Conference "Capital Markets and Corporate Governance"

On April 16th, The Yale University School of Management and the Shanghai Stock Exchange organized a conference "Capital Markets and Corporate Governance" in Shanghai Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The Conference confirmed the high level of awareness and significant progress of corporate governance in China as well as highlighted the important role of Shanghai as one of the key global financial markets / centers. It also stressed the focus on corporate governance for the further reform of Chinese economy. The participants dealt with the role of board directors in a significantly changed economic conditions, the necessary activities of regulators to raise confidence in financial markets. Particularly interested was search for the specific nuances of "Chinese" corporate governance, which has to, due to its size and tremedous growth potential, start taking over its share of responsibility in the global economy. The conference clearly showed the determination of Chinese corporations together with the world's top universities for continuous upgrading of knowledge and competencies as well as directing research activities that bring necessary  solutions to the challenges posed by the significantly altered  map of future global economy.
