Consultation on Corporate Governance held by OECD Headquarters 18.03.2009
A group of corporate governance experts to consult the themes in times of crisis:
- The role of corporate governance in the crisis
- What improvements in corporate governance are needed
- What can OECD do better.
The purpose of the consultation is to solicit input from the private sector, key stakeholders, civil society and non-OECD countries towards a set of OECD recommendations that will be issued later this year.

˝Implementation of OECD Corporate Governance guidelines in Slovenia˝ 28.01.2009
Key note address was made by dr. Matej Lahovnik, Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Slovenia.
Role of OECD in Global Corporate Governance was presented by Mr. Mats Isaksson, Head of Corporate Affairs, OECD Paris.
Mr. Morten Kallevig, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Trade and Industry – Department of Ownership had speech: OECD guidelines for State Owned Enterprises & the case of Norway. Between panelists were most prominent people from business area.Two founding works of OECD principles on Corporate Governance were published and presented for the first time in Slovene language at the roundtable.This are Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises and the Principles of Corporate Governance.

Socius d.d. to translate and publish OECD Principles on Corporate Governance 18.12.2008
Following the event, "Implementation of OECD Corporate Governance guidelines in Slovenia" which will take place on the 20th January in Ljubljana, Socius shall present the OECD principles on Corporate Governance in Slovene language. Two works of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) shall be translated, namely the Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises and the Principles of Corporate Governance.

Socius speakers successfully attended the PR Week 2008 05.12.2008
From 24th to 28th November, the third PR Week took place in Belgrade. More than 150 participants gathered to exchange experiences, acquire new knowledge and extend their international network of contacts in the field of public relations. Among the many lecturers, there was also Mr. Leonardo F. Peklar, who presented the lecture with the title Leadership in Crisis, and Janez Žezlina with his presentation Leader as a Coach. Participants rated both lectures as top class in terms of usability and importance in current economic frameworks.

The CEO of Socius d.d., Mrs. Alenka Podbevšek attended the round table on audit communities. The main topic of this year's meeting of certified supervisors was dedicated to audit communities. These are, with a stricter responsibility of the managing and controlling boards and an additional pressure due to the financial crisis, becoming more and more important. Management and control boards in companies have to provide fair and realistic reporting of the results and business operations, while at the same time they have to focus also to active risk management. Ljubljana, 25th November – Business Club Socius hosted the leading specialist for risk management and financial analyses on yesterday’s meeting, Mr. Branko Urošević, Ph.D., who spoke about the analysis of the financial crisis and possible responses to it. In continuation, participants from different economic societies discussing business opportunities stressed the challenges in the financial, as well as the communication field.

In Macedonia, Socius d.d. selected to facilitate workshops on Corporate Governance for banks 19.11.2008
IFC and USAid have selected Socius, trough an international tender, supported by the Central bank of Macedonia and SECO, to facilitate the workshops on CORPORATE GOVERNANCE FOR BANKS. The second round took place on November, 11th in Skopje and was attended by over 50 high officials from 17 Macedonian commercial banks, Central bank of Macedonia and the representatives of IFC and USAid. The purpose of the program was a consultation for the process of preparing and accepting the internal Codes of corporate governance in banks.

Executive board members and top manager’s seminar on Corporate management 14.11.2008
Socius and Pro Educa from Banja Luka, with the support of IFC organized a two day seminar CORPORATE GOVERNANCE FOR BOARD MEMBERS AND TOP EXECUTIVES. This high level interactive program was attended by 30 prominent executives and board members together with 25 journalist from BiH. Participants expressed their views during the work very actively and stated clearly their interest to continue with the similar programs in the future.
